Terms of use
Effective date: May 24, 2026
These Terms of Use govern your use of findlocallaw.com (the "Site"), operated by Find Local Law ("we," "us," or "our"). By using the Site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
Not a law firm; no legal advice
Find Local Law is an informational resource and attorney-matching service. We are not a law firm, we do not practice law, and nothing on the Site is legal advice. The guides are general information and may not reflect the most current law or apply to your situation. Using the Site does not create an attorney-client relationship with Find Local Law. For advice about your specific circumstances, consult a licensed attorney.
The matching service
When you submit an intake request, we may connect you with one or more independent attorneys. Those attorneys are not employed or controlled by Find Local Law, and we do not endorse, recommend, or guarantee any attorney, their availability, or the outcome of any matter. Any legal relationship — and any fee agreement — is solely between you and the attorney you choose to engage. We encourage you to evaluate any attorney independently.
No warranties
The Site and its content are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Find Local Law will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Site, your reliance on its content, or your interactions with any attorney you are matched with.
Intellectual property
The Site's content is owned by Find Local Law or its licensors and is protected by applicable laws. You may read and share links to our content, but you may not copy or republish it without permission.
Third-party links
The Site links to official sources (such as the California Probate Code and court websites) and may link to other third-party sites. We are not responsible for the content or practices of those sites.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time and will revise the "Effective date" above when we do. Continued use of the Site means you accept the updated terms.
