Privacy policy
Effective date: May 24, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Find Local Law ("Find Local Law," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use findlocallaw.com (the "Site"). Find Local Law is an informational resource and attorney-matching service. We are not a law firm and do not provide legal advice.
Information we collect
- Information you give us. When you use an intake form to request a match, we collect details such as your name, contact information (email, phone), your location, and the information you choose to share about your legal matter.
- Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we may collect limited technical data such as IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and referring site, through server logs and privacy-respecting analytics.
How we use information
- To match you with an attorney in our network who handles your type of matter.
- To operate, maintain, and improve the Site and our guides.
- To respond to your questions and requests.
- To comply with legal obligations and protect against misuse.
How we share information
- With attorneys. When you submit an intake request, we share the information you provide with one or more independent attorneys so they can contact you about your matter. Those attorneys are not owned or controlled by Find Local Law.
- With service providers. We may use vendors (for hosting, analytics, or communications) who process information on our behalf under appropriate obligations.
- For legal reasons. We may disclose information to comply with law or to protect our rights, users, or the public.
- We do not sell your personal information for money.
Your California privacy rights
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion or correction, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell personal information. To exercise any right, contact us at privacy@findlocallaw.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
Cookies & analytics
We aim to keep tracking minimal. If we use analytics or cookies, they are used to understand site usage and improve content, not to build advertising profiles. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
Data retention & security
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law, and we use reasonable measures to protect it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Children's privacy
The Site is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the "Effective date" above when we do.
